FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Navy Rear Adm. James W. Metzger, for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as commander, Seventh Fleet in Yokosuka, Japan. Metzger is currently serving as commander, Submarine Group Eight and commander, Allied Submarines, Mediterranean in Naples, Italy.
