U.S. forces from the U.S. Army Europe, Special Operations Command Europe, and U.S. Air Forces in Europe will join with Georgian armed forces for MEDCEUR 00-1, a joint and combined medical exercise in the Caucasus from June 14-25, 2000, in Tbilisi, Georgia.
This bi-lateral, medical mass casualty exercise is the first of its kind being conducted in Georgia in the spirit of Partnership for Peace.
MEDCEUR is a bi-annual medical training and civic assistance exercise held by the U.S. European command.
These exercises provide realistic training to U.S. medical personnel and also provide a tremendous opportunity to exchange medical information and techniques with host nation medical personnel.
The U.S. team will conduct training in preventive medicine, emergency medical technician skills, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, moulage application, and mass casualty operations.
