GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Army Lt. Gen. Edward G. Anderson III for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy commander in chief and chief of staff, U.S. Space Command and vice commander in chief, North American Aerospace Defense Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. Anderson is currently serving as the director for Strategic Plans and Policy, J-5, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.
