FLAG OFFICER ASSIGNMENTS

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Navy Rear Adm. Toney M. Bucchi has been nominated for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as commander, Third Fleet in San Diego, Calif. Bucchi is currently serving as chief of Naval Air Training in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Navy Rear Adm. Martin J. Mayer has been nominated for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as deputy commander in chief, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, Va. Mayer is currently serving as director for strategy requirements and integration, J8, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.

REAR ADMIRALS

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Vernon E. Clark announced today the following assignments:

Navy Rear Adm. Larry D. Newsome is being assigned as director, Navy International Programs Office, Secretary of the Navy, Washington, D.C. Newsome is currently serving as program executive officer, Air Anti-Submarine Warfare, Assault and Special Mission Programs, assistant secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition, Patuxent River, Md.

Navy Rear Adm. (Lower Half) (Select) Steven L. Enewold is being assigned as program executive officer, Air Anti-Submarine Warfare, Assault and Special Mission Programs, assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition, Patuxent River, Md. Enewold is currently serving as program executive officer, Tactical Aircraft Programs, assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition, Patuxent River, Md.

Navy Rear Adm. (Lower Half) (Select) Mark R. Milliken is being assigned as deputy commander, U.S. Naval Forces, U.S. Central Command, MacDill AFB, Fla. Milliken is currently serving as deputy executive officer, Supreme Allied Commander, Europe.
