GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Army Lt. Gen. Johnny M. Riggs has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as director, Objective Force Task Force, U.S. Army, Arlington, Va. Riggs is currently serving as the commanding general, First U.S. Army, Fort Gillem, Ga.

Army Reserve Maj. Gen. Thomas J. Plewes has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general. Plewes is currently serving as the chief, Army Reserve, Washington, D.C.

Army National Guard Maj. Gen. Roger C. Schultz has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general. Schultz is currently serving as the director, Army National Guard, Arlington, Va.

BRIGADIER GENERALS

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Army Col. Scott C. Black has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Black is currently serving as the staff judge advocate, V Corps, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany.

Army Col. David P. Carey has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Carey is currently serving as the staff judge advocate, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany.

Army Col. Daniel V. Wright has been nominated for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Wright is currently serving as the staff judge advocate, XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg, Fort Bragg, N.C.
