POWELL A. MOORE SWORN IN AS ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF DEFENSE FOR LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS
Powell A. Moore was sworn in as the assistant secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs, May 4, 2001, at the Pentagon, Washington D.C.
Previously, Moore was the chief of staff for Sen. Fred Thompson of Tennessee. Moore was appointed assistant secretary of State for Intergovernmental and Legislative Affairs in 1982 and served former President Ronald Reagan as deputy assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs in 1981. Originally from Milledgeville, Ga., Moore is a veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate of the University of Georgia.
