GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Edward Hanlon, Jr., for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commanding general, Marine Corps Combat Development Command, Quantico, Va. Hanlon is currently serving as the commanding general, Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
