Sixteen U.S. Air Force personnel and one C-130 aircraft will deploy to and operate from Simon Bolivar Airport in Guayaquil, Ecuador, from November 30 to December 11 to conduct search and rescue training with the Ecuadorian Air Force. The training is intended to improve the capabilities of the U.S. and Ecuadorian Air Forces to conduct all aspects of search and rescue missions.

Training events will include deploying U.S. and Ecuadorian pararescuemen in land and sea situations, low-level techniques, day and night airdrops, and rescue medical techniques. U.S. Air Force personnel involved are from the 71st Rescue Squadron stationed at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. They will return to Florida at the conclusion of the training.
