GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Air National Guard Maj. Gen. Daniel James III for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as director, Air National Guard, Arlington, Va. James is currently serving as adjutant general of the state of Texas, Texas Air National Guard, Austin, Texas.
