GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has made the following nominations:

Air Force Brig. Gen. Robert Damon Bishop, Jr., has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the director, Strategy, Policy and Plans, J-5, U.S. Southern Command, Miami, Fla.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Robert W. Chedister has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the commander, Air Armament Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Trudy H. Clark has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the deputy principal deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force (Business Information Management), and deputy chief information officer, Arlington, Va.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Richard L. Comer has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the vice commander, Air Force Special Operations Command and vice commander, Air Force Component Command, U.S. Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, Fla.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Craig R. Cooning has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the vice commander, Space and Missile Systems Center, Air Force Space Command, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Scott S. Custer, has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the director, Plans and Programs, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Felix Dupr has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the executive officer to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, deputy commanding general, Allied Command Europe and Supreme Headquarters Allied Command Europe military community commander, Casteau, Belgium.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Edward R. Ellis has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the commanding general, Combined Task Force Operation Northern Watch, U.S. European Command, Incirlik Air Base, Turkey.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Leonard D. Fox has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the director, Civil Engineering, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Terry L. Gabreski has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the director, Logistics, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Army National Guard Brig. Gen. Jeffrey L. Gidley has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Gidley is currently serving as the deputy commander (maneuver), 40th Infantry Division (Mechanized), Los Alamitos, Calif.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Michael C. Gould has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the commander, Cheyenne Mountain Operations Center, North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Space Command, Cheyenne Mountain Air Station, Colo.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Jonathan S. Gration has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the director, Regional Affairs, Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force (International Affairs); Air Force member, Delegation to Inter-American Defense Board, and Air Force member, Joint Mexico-U.S. Defense Commission, Rosslyn, Arlington, Va.

Army National Guard Brig. Gen. Jerry W. Grizzle has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Grizzle is currently serving as the commander, Joint Task Force - Civil Support, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.

Army National Guard Brig. Gen. Gus L. Hargett, Jr., has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Hargett is currently serving as the assistant adjutant general, Tennessee State Area Command, Nashville, Tenn.

Air Force Brig. Gen. William W. Hodges has been nominated to the rank of major general while serving as the commander, 6th Air Mobility Wing, Air Mobility Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Donald J. Hoffman has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the commander, 31st Fighter Wing, U.S. Air Forces Europe, Aviano Air Base, Italy.

Air Force Brig. Gen. John L. Hudson has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the director, Joint Strike Fighter Program Office, Arlington, Va.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Claude R. Kehler has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the commander, 21st Space Wing, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Christopher A. Kelly has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the vice commander, 15th Air Force, Air Mobility Command, Travis Air Force Base, Calif.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Paul J. Lebras has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general. Lebras was previously assigned as the vice director for Intelligence, J-2, Joint Staff, and vice director for Intelligence, Defense Intelligence Agency, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Lebras is now en route to his current assignment as commander, Joint Information Operations Center, U.S. Space Command; commander, Air Intelligence Agency, Air Combat Command; and deputy commander, 8th Air Force, for Information Operations, Air Combat Command, San Antonio, Texas.

Army National Guard Brig. Gen. Phillip E. Oates has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Oates is currently serving as the adjutant general, Alaska State Area Command, Fort Richardson, Alaska.

Army National Guard Brig. Gen. Walter A. Paulson II has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Paulson is currently serving as the deputy commanding general (reserve component), Headquarters Fifth U.S. Army, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Air Force Brig. Gen. John W. Rosa, Jr., has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the deputy director, Current Operations, J-33, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Ronald F. Sams has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the Inspector General, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Va.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Joseph P. Stein has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the director, Manpower and Organization, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Kevin J. Sullivan has been nominated for the appointment the rank of major general while serving as the vice commander, Air Armament Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.

Air Force Brigadier General George P. Taylor Jr., has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the assistant surgeon general for Medical Readiness, Science and Technology, Office of the Surgeon General, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Mark A. Welsh III has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the director, Plans and Programs, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

Army National Guard Brig. Gen. Claude A. Williams has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Williams is currently serving as the adjutant general, Virginia State Area Command, Blackstone, Va.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Stephen G. Wood has been nominated for the appointment to the rank of major general while serving as the deputy director, Legislative Liaison, Air Force Secretariat, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

BRIGADIER GENERAL

Army National Guard Col. Ronald I. Botz has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Botz is currently serving as the chief of staff, Illinois State Area Command, Springfield, Ill.

Army National Guard Col. David P. Burford has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Burford is currently serving as the deputy commanding general (reserve component), U.S. Army Special Forces Command (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.

Army National Guard Col. James E. Fletcher has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Fletcher is currently serving as the commander, 111th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Albuquerque, N.M.

Army National Guard Col. Alan K. Fry has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Fry is currently serving as the assistant adjutant general, Department of Military & Veteran Affairs, Annville, Pa.

Army National Guard Col. Kenneth D. Hislop has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Hislop is currently serving as the assistant adjutant general, New Jersey State Area Command, Trenton, N.J.

Army National Guard Col. Laughlin H. Holliday has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Holliday is currently serving as the commander, 184th Transportation Brigade, Jackson, Miss.

Army National Guard Col. Hal E. Hunter III has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Hunter is currently serving as the assistant adjutant general, Missouri State Area Command, Jefferson City, Mo.

Army National Guard Col. Donald O. Koonce has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Koonce is currently serving as the chief of staff, Tennessee State Area Command, Nashville, Tenn.

Army National Guard Col. Robert A. Martinez has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Martinez is currently serving as the assistant adjutant general, New Mexico State Area Command, Santa Fe, N.M.

Army National Guard Col. Joseph G. Materia has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Materia is currently serving as the commander, 51st Troop Command, Milford, Mass.

Army National Guard Col. Thomas J. Shailor has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Shailor is currently serving as the U.S. property and fiscal officer, Vermont State Area Command, Colchester, Vt.

Army National Guard Col. Roger L. Shields has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Shields is currently serving as the chief of staff, Mississippi State Area Command, Jackson, Miss.

Army National Guard Col. Perry G. Smith has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Smith is currently serving as the chief of staff, Alabama State Area Command, Birmingham, Ala.

Army National Guard Col. Thomas J. Sullivan has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Sullivan is currently serving as the deputy commander, 57th Troop Command, Atlantic City, N.J.

Army National Guard Col. John J. Weeden has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Weeden is currently serving as the assistant adjutant general, New Hampshire State Area Command, Concord, N.H.

Army National Guard Col. Mitchell M. Willoughby has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Willoughby is currently serving as the facilities manager, South Carolina State Area Command, Columbia, S.C.

Army National Guard Col. Patrick D. Wilson has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Wilson is currently serving as the commander, I Corps Artillery, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Army National Guard Col. Timothy J. Wright has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Wright is currently serving as the deputy commander, Indiana State Area Command, Indianapolis, Ind.
