GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated:

Air Force Lt. Gen. Bruce A. Carlson has been nominated for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as commander, Eighth Air Force, Air Combat Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, La. Carlson is currently serving as director, Force Structure, Resources and Assessment, J-8, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

Air Force Lt. Gen. Joseph H. Wehrle has been nominated for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as assistant vice chief of staff, U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. Wehrle is currently serving as deputy chief of staff, Plans and Programs, Headquarters United States Air Force, Washington, D.C.

Air Force Lt. Gen Robert C. Hinson has been nominated for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as vice commander, Air Force Space Command. Hinson is currently serving as deputy commander in chief, U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.

Air Force Maj. Gen. Duncan J. McNabb has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy chief of staff, Plans and Programs Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. McNabb is currently serving as director for Programs, Deputy Chief of Staff, Plans and Programs, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C.

Air Force Maj. Gen. Thomas B. Goslin has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy commander in chief, U.S. Strategic Command. Goslin is currently serving as commander, Space Warfare Center, Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
