GENERAL OFFICER ASSIGNMENT
Army Chief of Staff Gen. Eric K. Shinseki announced today that Army Brig. Gen. Kenneth L. Farmer, Jr., is being assigned as deputy surgeon general, U.S. Army, Falls Church, Va. Farmer is currently serving as commanding general, Western Regional Medical Command, and lead agent, Tricare Region 11, Tacoma, Wash. Please note that the assignment of Brig. Gen. Farmer to this position should not be construed as the Senate's consent of his promotion nomination, and there will be no action to frock or promote him until Senate confirmation.
