FLAG ASSIGNMENT
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Navy Vice Adm. James W. Metzger for reappointment to the rank of vice admiral with assignment as assistant to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Metzger is currently serving as commander, Seventh Fleet in Yokosuka, Japan.
