Special Forces Soldier Dies in Haiti
The Department of Defense has released the name of the Special Forces soldier
who died after being shot by a Haitian gunman in Gonaives, Haiti, at about
11:30 a.m. (local) January 12, 1995. He was Sgt. 1st Class Gregory D. Cardott,
age 36. His home of record was San Mateo, Calif. Cardott was assigned to A
Company, 3rd Battalion, Third Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, N.C.
