GENERAL OFFICER ASSIGNMENT
Army Chief of Staff Gen. Eric K. Shinseki announced today that Army Brig. Gen. (Select) Joseph A. Smith is being assigned as assistant division commander, 82d Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C. Smith is currently serving as Chief of Staff, 10th Mountain Division (Light), Fort Drum, New York.
