GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has made the following nominations:

Army Lt. Gen. Bryan D. Brown has been nominated for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy commander, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Brown is currently serving as the commanding general, U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, N.C.

Army Maj. Gen. Philip R. Kensinger, Jr., has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as commanding general, U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, N.C. Kensinger is currently serving as the assistant deputy chief of staff, G-3, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.
