GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Marine Corps Lt. Gen. William L. Nyland for appointment to the grade of general and assignment as assistant commandant of the Marine Corps, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, D.C. Nyland is currently serving as deputy commandant for Aviation, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, D.C.
