GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Air Force Lt. Gen. Charles F. Wald for appointment to the grade of general with assignment as deputy commander, U.S. European Command, Vaihingen, Germany. Wald is currently serving as deputy chief of staff, Air and Space Operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
