GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Marine Corps Lieutenant General Michael W. Hagee, for appointment to the rank of general with assignment as the commandant of the Marine Corps. Hagee is currently serving as the commanding general, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
