GENERAL OFFICER ASSIGNMENTS AND PROMOTION

Army Chief of Staff Gen. Eric K. Shinseki announces the assignment of the following officers:

MAJOR GENERAL

Maj. Gen. Robert H. Griffin, director of Civil Works, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C., to deputy chief of Engineers and deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C.

Maj. Gen. Carl A. Strock, director of Military Programs, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C., to director of Civil Works, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C.

Brig. Gen. (Promotable) Ronald L. Johnson, commanding general, U.S. Army Engineer Division, Pacific Ocean, Fort Shafter, Hawaii, to director of Military Programs, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C.

BRIGADIER GENERAL

Brig. Gen. Randal R. Castro, assistant commandant, U.S. Army Engineer School and deputy commanding general, Initial Entry Training, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., to commanding general, U.S. Army Engineer Division, South Atlantic, Atlanta.

Brig. Gen. Robert L. Davis, commanding general, U.S. Army Engineer Division, South Pacific, San Francisco, Calif., to commanding general, U.S. Army Engineer Division, Pacific Ocean, Fort Shafter, Hawaii.

Brig. Gen. William H. McCoy, Jr., commander, 18th Theater Army Engineer Brigade, and deputy chief of staff, Engineer, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany, to assistant commandant, U.S. Army Engineer School, and deputy commanding general, Initial Entry Training, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

Brig. Gen. William T. Grisoli, deputy director, Army Transformation, Office of the deputy Chief of staff, G-3, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C., to commanding general, U.S. States Army Engineer Division, Northwestern, Portland, Ore. Brig. Gen. Grisoli was previously announced for assignment as director, Requirements, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3, U.S. Army.

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Col. Guy K. Dahlbeck, U.S. Air Force, for promotion to brigadier general. Dahlbeck is currently assigned as commander, 8th Fighter Wing, Pacific Air Forces, Kunsan, Air Base, Korea.
