FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Rear Admiral Donald L. Pilling, U.S. Navy, for appointment to the
grade of vice admiral and assignment as Commander Sixth Fleet/Commander Naval
Striking Force and Support Forces, Southern Europe, in Gaeta, Italy. Rear
Admiral Pilling is currently serving as Director Programming Division, N80,
Office of the Chief of Naval Operations in the Pentagon.
Rear Admiral Pilling was born June 4, 1943 in New York, New York.
