GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Army Maj. Gen. James J. Lovelace, Jr., for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as director of the Army Staff, Washington, D.C. Lovelace is currently serving as assistant deputy chief of staff, G-3, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.
