FLAG AND GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Navy Rear Adm. Kirkland H. Donald for appointment to the rank of vice admiral with assignment as commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, and commander, Submarine Allied Command, Atlantic, Norfolk, Va. Donald is currently serving as commander, Submarine Group Eight; commander, Allied Submarines, Mediterranean; and commander, Task Force 69, Naples, Italy.
BRIGADIER GENERAL
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Air Force Col. Danny K. Gardner for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Gardner is serving as deputy U.S. military representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Military Committee, NATO Headquarters, Brussels, Belgium.
