General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Lieutenant General Glynn C. Mallory Jr., United States Army, to be
placed on the retired list in his current grade. Lieutenant General Mallory
will retire after completing more than 32 years of service. Since September
1991, he has been serving as the Commanding General, Sixth United States Army,
Presidio of San Francisco, California.
Lieutenant General Mallory was born on February 10, 1939, in Natchez, Miss.
