GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Lieutenant General Daniel R. Schroeder, United States Army, to be
placed on the retired list in his current grade. Lieutenant General Schroeder
will retire after completion of more than 34 years of service. Since August
1992, he has been serving as the Deputy Commander in Chief, United States Army
Europe and Seventh Army.
Lieutenant General Schroeder was born on March 13, 1938, in Jamaica, New
York.
