FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Rear Admiral Harold M. Koenig, Medical Corps, U.S. Navy, for
appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as Chief of the Bureau
of Medicine and Surgery and Surgeon General in Washington, D.C. Rear Admiral
Koenig is currently serving as Deputy Chief of the Bureau of Medicine and
Surgery and Deputy Surgeon General in Washington, D.C.
Rear Admiral Koenig was born February 28, 1943, in Salinas, California.
