GENERAL OFFICER ANOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has
nominated Lieutenant General John S. Fairfield, United States Air Force, for
reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as Deputy
Chief of Staff, Command, Control, Communications and Computers, Headquarters
United States Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, DC. General Fairfield is
currently assigned as Vice Commander, Pacific Air Forces, Hickam Air Force
Base, Hawaii.
General Fairfield was born May 2, 1941, in Berkeley, California.
