REVISED
GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President
intends to nominate Lieutenant General Charles E. Wilhelm, U.S. Marine Corps,
for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as the
Commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Atlantic/Commanding General, Fleet Marine
Force Atlantic/Commanding General, II Marine Expeditionary Force. Lieutenant
General Wilhelm is currently assigned as the Commanding General, Marine Corps
Combat Development Command, and has served in this capacity since June 1994.
Lieutenant General Wilhelm was born on August 26, 1941, in Edenton, North
Carolina.
