General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Robert M. Shea for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as director of command, control, communications and computer (C4) systems, J-6, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C. Shea is currently serving as deputy commander, U.S. Forces Japan, Yokota, Japan.
