General Officer Assignment
The Acting Army Chief of Staff announced today that Army Brig. Gen. John D. Gardner is being assigned as commanding general, U.S. Army South, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Gardner is currently serving as deputy commanding general for transformation, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Lewis, Wash.
