Flag Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Navy Rear Adm. Henry G. Ulrich III for appointment to the rank of vice admiral and assignment as commander, SIXTH Fleet and commander, Naval Striking and Support Forces Southern Europe in Gaeta, Italy. Ulrich is currently serving as director, Surface Warfare Division, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.
