Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Army Reserve Brig. Gen. James R. Sholar for appointment to the rank of major general. Sholar is currently serving as commander, 90th Regional Support Command, North Little Rock, Ark.

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Vern Clark announced that Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Richard K. Gallagher is being assigned as commander, Carrier Group Four, and commander, Carrier Striking Force, Norfolk, Va. Gallagher is currently serving as assistant chief of staff for plans and policy, Supreme Allied Commander, Atlantic, Norfolk, Va.
BRIGADIER GENERAL
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Army Reserve Col. Henry J. Ostermann for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Ostermann is currently serving as deputy commander, 90th Regional Support Command, North Little Rock, Ark.
