General Officer Assignment
Army Chief of Staff Gen. Peter J. Schoomaker announced today that Army Maj. Gen. Buford C. Blount III, commanding general, 3d Infantry Division (Mechanized) and Fort Stewart, Fort Stewart, Ga., to assistant deputy chief of staff, G-3, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C., with a report date to be determined.
