DoD Identifies Army Casualty

     The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

     Spc. James A. Chance III, 25, of Kokomo, Miss., was killed on Nov. 6, 2003, in Husaybah, Iraq. Chance died of injuries sustained when his vehicle struck a landmine.

     Chance was assigned to C Company, 890th Engineer Battalion, Army National Guard, based in Columbia, Miss.

     The incident is under investigation.
