DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Thomas J. Sweet II, 23, of Bismarck, North Dakota, died on Nov. 27 in Junction City, Iraq. Sweet died of non-combat related injuries. Sweet was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, based in Fort Riley, Kan.
The incident is under investigation.
