General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Army Maj. Gen. Carl A. Strock for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as the chief of engineers and commanding general, United States Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C. Strock is currently serving as director of civil works, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C.
