DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Staff Sgt. George S. Rentschler, 31, of Louisville, Ky., died, April 7, in Baghdad, Iraq, when his military vehicle was hit with a rocket-propelled grenade. Rentschler was assigned to the Armys 1st Battalion, 35th Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany.

The incident is under investigation.
