GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT

Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has nominated Lt. Gen. Arlen D. Jameson, United States Air Force, for advancement on the Retired List in the grade of lieutenant general. Jameson is currently assigned as deputy commander in chief, United States Strategic Command, Offutt AFB, Neb.

Jameson was born Nov. 11, 1940, in Vernon, Texas.
