DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. William C. Eckhart, 25, of Rocksprings, Texas, died April 10, in Baqubah, Iraq when he was on an anti-mortar mission and there was an explosion of unknown origin. Sgt. Eckhart was assigned to the Armys 4th Cavalry, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.
The incident is under investigation.
