FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT

Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President has nominated Vice Adm. John B. LaPlante, U.S. Navy, to be placed on the retired list in his current grade. LaPlante is scheduled to retire Apr. 1, 1996, after completion of more than 33 years of active service. He is currently serving as Director for Logistics, J-4, Joint Staff in the Pentagon.
