ARMY PLACES RECRUITING ADVERTISING ACCOUNT UP FOR COMPETITION
Secretary of the Army Togo West announced today that the Army will recompete
its recruiting advertising account when the current contract expires on April
1, 1997. The terms of the new contract will be for one year, with four
additional annual options, not to exceed five years. The current Army account
has been handled under similar arrangements since 1992 by Young & Rubicam, Inc.
of New York.
The Army requires a full-service advertising agency to support personnel
acquisition programs for the U.S. Army Recruiting Command, U.S. Army Cadet
Command and the Office of the Chief, Army Reserve. A Draft Request for
Proposals (DRFP) will be issued to obtain industry feedback on content, clarity
and structure. Interested agencies should request DFRP Number
DASW01-96-R-0037 by writing to the Defense Supply Service - Washington, 5200
Army Pentagon, Room 1D245, Washington, DC 20310-5200, beginning on January 31,
