DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Daniel Michael Shepherd, 23, of Elyria, Ohio, died August 15 in Ar Ramabi, Iraq, when his M2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle hit an improvised explosive device. Shepherd was assigned to the Armys 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment from Fort Riley, Kan.
The incident is under investigation.
