DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
2nd Lt. James Michael Goins, 23, of Bonner Springs, Kan., died as a result of hostile fire on August 15 in Najaf, Iraq.Goins was assigned to the Armys 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division from Fort Hood, Texas.
The incident is under investigation.
