DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Spc. Brandon T. Titus, 20, of Boise, Idaho, died Aug. 17 in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his checkpoint. Titus was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y.

The incident is under investigation.
