DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

2nd Lt. Matthew R. Stovall, 25, of Horn Lake, Miss., died Aug. 22 in Mosul, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device exploded near his vehicle. Stovall was assigned to the Army National Guards 367th Maintenance Company, 298th Corps Support Battalion, Philadelphia, Miss.

The incident is under investigation.
