The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Jessica L. Cawvey, 21, of Normal, Ill., died Oct. 6 in Fallujah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near her convoy vehicle. Cawvey was assigned to the Armys National Guards 1544th Transportation Company, Paris, Ill.
