The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Staff Sgt. Todd D. Olson, 36, from Loyal, Wis., died Dec. 27 in the 67
th Combat Support Hospital in Tikrit, Iraq from wounds sustained in Samarra, Iraq on Dec. 26, when an improvised explosive device detonated. Olson was assigned to the National Guards 1
st Battalion, 128
th Infantry Regiment, Neillsville, Wis.
