The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
1st Lt. Nainoa K. Hoe, 27, of Hawaii, died Jan. 22 in Mosul, Iraq, of wounds received when he was attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire. Hoe was assigned to the Armys 3d Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash.
