GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that the President hasnominated Lieutenant General Walter Kross, United States Air Force, forappointment to the grade of general with assignment as Commander in Chief,United States Transportation Command and Commander, Air Mobility Command, ScottAir Force Base, Illinois.
General Kross is currently assigned as Director,Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
General Kross was born October 3, 1942, in Bronx, New York.
