Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated Navy Adm. Michael G. Mullen for reappointment to the grade of admiral and assignment as Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Mullen is currently serving as commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Europe and commander, Allied Joint Force Command, Naples, Italy.
